“You cannot create a market that doesn’t want to exist.” – Sam Altman, founder of Y-Combinator
This is a key point, which I’ve been learning throughout my startup experience. The bottom line is that a market has to be open and willing to accept your product, and there needs to be market fit. You cannot solve for a problem that you created. The problem needs to exist already and you need to be able to solve it.
Generally speaking, with minimal exceptions, markets will not move for you.
Sam Altman is the President of Y Combinator, which is a seed funding organization that funds early stage startups in a controlled incubation environment.
